Turnaround and cover

Turnaround times, tracking and your six-month warranty

Two questions decide whether a mail-in repair is worth it: how long will it take, and what happens if it fails again. This page answers both with typical figures and the exact shape of our limited warranty.

Typical turnaround by repair type

Turnaround has three parts: the trip to us, the time on our bench, and the trip back. Transit time is set by your country and by the shipping service you choose; the bench time is set by the repair. The figures below are typical, not a promise, and a busy week or a part that has to be sourced can move them. We tell you if that happens rather than leaving you to guess.

Battery replacementBench time typically 1 working day once approved
Display or top caseBench time typically 1 to 3 working days
Keyboard or trackpadBench time typically 2 to 4 working days
Logic board or liquid damageBench time typically 3 to 7 working days, sometimes longer
Diagnosis aloneUsually within 1 to 2 working days of intake
Transit each wayDomestic US a few days; international commonly 4 to 12 working days

What slows a repair down

Three things account for most delays, and all three are avoidable. The first is a parcel that arrives without a work order number, which has to be matched by hand. The second is an estimate that sits unanswered, because we cannot start a paid repair until you approve it. The third is an inaccurate customs declaration, which can hold a parcel at a border for days. A complete message, a filled form and honest paperwork are the best speed tools you have.

How tracking works

Every job has a work order number, and every meaningful change of state produces a message to the email you gave us: intake confirmed, diagnosis complete, estimate sent, estimate approved, repair complete, packed for return, dispatched with tracking. The work order sheet at the top of each page on this site shows what those states look like. You never have to call to find out which stage your machine is at, though you are welcome to.

The six-month limited warranty

Bookronix provides a six-month limited warranty on the parts we fit and the labour we perform. If the specific fault we repaired returns within six months of the return date, bring the machine back to us and we will examine it. Where the failure is traced to our work or our parts, we repair it again at no labour charge, and where the part itself has failed we replace it. This is a limited warranty: it covers the repair we performed, not every possible fault in the machine.

What the warranty does not cover

The full wording, including how to make a claim and how shipping on a warranty return is handled, is on the warranty page. The short version is that we stand behind our bench work and we are straight with you when a fault falls outside it.

Expedited service and deadlines

We do offer priority handling where a machine is needed for work or study, and we will always say honestly whether a deadline is realistic given the fault and the part. What we will not do is pretend a board-level repair can be turned around in a day. If a date matters to you, tell us at the start and we will build the schedule around it and confirm it in writing before you ship.

Need it back by a certain date?

Tell us your deadline and the fault. We will say plainly whether the timeline is realistic before you commit to shipping.
